Now for the "Fun Stuff".

Open up paint shop pro. Find yourself a "funky background" keeping in mind the theme of the box that you want to use, basic colors that you want to use and remember that darker colors take up a lot of ink. For this tutorial I will use the following background:

If you want to use this background, all you have to do is "right click" and save it in your "Popcorn Tutorial Folder".

NOTE: When I do my layouts, I keep everything that I do in the same folder, most of the time they are duplicated files. I mean everything: backgrounds, fonts, tubes etc. This way if someone asks for it or you want to make a matching set down the road you save tons of time searching for files or you can duplicate things exactly.

Step 1. Opening up your files and your settings

This should now go pretty quickly.

1. Open up Paint Shop Pro

2. Open up the template file: 2page-popcorn-temp-roundtop-marti.psp.

3. Open up your background image.

4. Make sure you have your layers toolbar open. To do this:

"view" "toolbars" and make sure the "layer palette" is checked.

When doing a tutorial I make sure that this toolbar is locked in the on position.

I then organize my open files, along with my layer pallete. I use the little magnifying glass to make some of them smaller. (note in the next image the files all fit on the screen).

High light the template file (#1 on the next image)

Click on the flood fill box (#2 on the next screen)

Load your background into the flood fill option (#3 on the next screen)

We are now ready to move on to the tutorial.
